Name | Type of threat | Priority actions Show only: high | medium | low priority | | Alteration of habitat following subsidence due to longwall mining | Habitat loss/change | 1. Examine the effects of subsudence from longwall mining on priority ecosystems including streams, wetlands and threatened species, populations and ecological communities. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Alteration to the natural flow regimes of rivers, streams, floodplains & wetlands. | Habitat loss/change | 1. Determine impacts of altered flow regimes on marine and terrestrial biodiversity, with reference to structures affecting flow, mechanisms that affect flow and affected threatened species and communities. (High priority) 2. Identify mechanisms for abatement of impacts, e.g.. Weirs removals program, causeway and culvert modification, habitat rehabilitation, instigation of ecological flows. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Bushrock Removal | Habitat loss/change | 1. Determine where and how much bushrock is being collected in NSW, and which species are being impacted by this. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Clearing of native vegetation | Habitat loss/change | 1. Design and seek funding for research to improve understanding of the role of "invasive native scrub" in species persistence in landscapes with different levels of past clearing and habitat fragmentation. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Competition and grazing by the feral European rabbit | Pest animal | 1. Identify and prioritise biodiversity at risk from rabbit impacts. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Competition and habitat degradation by feral goats | Pest animal | 1. Identify biodiversity at risk from feral goats. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Herbivory and environmental degradation caused by feral deer | Pest animal | 1. Identify biodiversity at risk from herbivory and environmental degradation caused by the feral deer. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Human-caused Climate Change | Habitat loss/change | 1. Improve understanding of climate change impacts on biodiversity including identification of species and ecosystem most at risk. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Infection of native plants by Phytophthora cinnamomi | Disease | 1. Adapt and apply the National Risk Assessment Model to assess the level of risk that the disease poses to species, populations and ecological communities in NSW. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Invasion and establishment of exotic vines and scramblers | Weed | 1. Determine the relative threat of vine impacts on biodiversity. (Medium priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Invasion of native plant communities by bitou bush & boneseed | Weed | 1. Examine new data and establish future priorities for bitou bush research. (High priority) 2. Examine new data and integrate it into future control/management strategies and best practice guidelines for bitou bush. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Invasion of native plant communities by exotic perennial grasses | Weed | 1. Identify biodiversity at risk from exotic grasses. (Medium priority) 2. Identify biodiversity most at risk from Coolatai grass. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Invasion, establishment and spread of Lantana camara | Weed | 1. Develop and use model to rank biodiversity threatened by Lantana. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
| Predation by feral cats | Pest animal | 1. Identify the biodiversity most at risk from predation by feral cats. (High priority) See all priority actions for this KTP. |
