Review strategies to respond to marine mammal and turtle capture and work with Department of Primary Industries to coordinate strategies to limit the incidental entanglement of marine mammals and turtles. High

Support the continuation of the NSW shark meshing program being subject to the appropriate level of environmental assessment under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 with threat abatement measures being addressed as part of this process. High

Prepare Statement of Intent by 2008. High 
Threat abatement strategy: Research
Support research into shark control programs including examining the effectiveness of the program and ways of reducing the accidental capture of non-target marine mammals and turtles. High
