2008 Regent Honeyeater and Swift Parrot survey season commences
The first of the national survey for Regent Honeyeaters and Swift Parrots will be held on 17-18th May (third weekend May). All interested birdwatchers are welcome to participate. The second survey weekend is on the 2-3rd August (first weekend August). Survey sheets and instructions can be downloaded from the Related Information box on the Regent Honeyeaters and Swift Parrots profiles

Approved Recovery Plan for the Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby
In March 2008 DECC launched the Approved NSW Recovery Plan for the Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby. This plan:

  • outlines the animal’s ecology
  • describes its past and current distribution and abundance
  • explains the reasons for its decline
  • sets out actions to recover the species across its known range in NSW.

    New identification guidelines for Endangered Ecological Communities
    A series of brochures that assist in the identification of EEC are now available. Copies can be downloaded from the Related Information box on the profile for the EEC. For examples see:

  • Coastal Saltmarsh,
  • Swamp Sclerophyll Forest,
  • River Flat Eucalypt Forest,
  • Swamp Oak Forest
  • Download species lists
    You can now download lists of species generated by searches for regions and habitat. Click on the "Export this list" on the top right hand corner of the table and follow the prompt to obtain a list that can be viewed and saved in Microsoft Excel or similar programs.
